Submission checklist
Manuscript preparation
Use Times New Roman, 12 point, with double spacing. Report measurements in SI units. Organise the paper in a form suited to its article type and write abbreviations out at first use.
Tables must remain editable. Submit images as JPEG files under 850 KB each. Label every table and figure and cite it in the manuscript.
Use Vancouver style. Number sources in the order they first appear in the text and use the same number for later citations to that source.
Research integrity
Authors are responsible for the accuracy, permissions and ethical basis of the work they submit.
Follow the Declaration of Helsinki and CIOMS guidance. State ethics approval and obtain informed consent where required.
Each author must meet all four ICMJE authorship criteria: contribution, drafting or revision, final approval and accountability.
Declare funding, conflicts of interest and any relationship that could affect how the work is read.
AI tools cannot be authors. Limited help with readability, references, language or data analysis must remain under human review. Do not use AI to generate a manuscript indiscriminately.
Editorial process
The journal uses double-blind peer review. Authors and reviewers do not receive each other's identities.
The team checks fit, file preparation, originality and basic ethical requirements.
At least two reviewers assess the manuscript and advise the editors.
If changes are requested, authors should normally return the revised manuscript within five working days.
The editors decide whether to accept, request further work or decline the submission.
Authors retain copyright and grant EKSUMED permission to reproduce, distribute and display the published work.
